According to the AMAZE website, their mission is to "harnesses the power of digital media to provide young adolescents around the globe with medically accurate, age-appropriate, affirming, and honest sex education". AMAZE is in partnership with Advocates for Youth, the organization who produced the Rights, Respect, Responsibility (3Rs), K-12 Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). This curriculum is deemed harmful by Stop Comprehensive Sexuality Education and labeled 'EXPLICIT CONTENT'. AMAZE is pro-abortion, pro-CSE, pro-LGBTQ+, has collaborative programs with SIECUS and Planned Parenthood and the videos they produce are pornographic.
"AMAZE (www.amaze.org and YouTube.com/amazeorg) is a partnership between Advocates, Answer and Youth Tech Health and harnesses the power of animation and social media to provide young people, ages 10-14, their parents and educators with an age-appropriate, sex education playlist." - www.advocatesforyouth.org
The problem is that the content is NOT age appropriate at all. The videos are pornographic and break down inhibitions. Like most SIECUS and Planned Parenthood content, the intent is to sexualize children.
We first introduced you to AMAZE in our "Sexual Education at CISD Harmful for Children" blog. AMAZE is listed as a resource for the Healthy Futures of Texas website created by a Planned Parenthood affiliate. We next spotted AMAZE on the Canyon Independent School District (CISD) social media page for Portable 7. Portable 7 are the student and family advocates for CISD. They are the group who are trained on and teach the the tMHFA program at CISD (see "tMHFA Public School Mental Health Program is Harmful to Children" blog).
On April 23, 2021, the Portable 7 Facebook page (a CISD site) posted an AMAZE video. Although there is not pornography in this specific video, it leaves a viewer on the YouTube page for AMAZE.
The AMAZE YouTube page has wildly inappropriate, pornographic videos for children that teach a perverted view on human sexuality and normalize SOGI (sexual orientation and gender identity). At the end of each video, the cartoon character leaves you with a CTA or call to action. She prompts the viewer to be sure to visit the AMAZE website and subscribe to the channel. Even if the viewer does not follow this direction, the end of each video prompts the user with other AMAZE video choices and leaves the viewer on the AMAZE YouTube page where harmful content abounds. In a matter of seconds, another AMAZE video will auto-play.
We need all school districts to step up and do a much better job of protecting children. Not only is this pushing children on CISD social media to a pornographic site, we have heard from teachers that these videos are, at times, used in the classroom. Schools should immediately block this site internally and district communication directors should add it to the social media banned listed.
The Content
Proponents of comprehensive sexuality education hide behind double speak. Notice the title of this AMAZE video, "Porn is not Sex Ed." They give the appearance that they are warning against porn, but what they are really doing is normalizing and promoting it for teens and younger. This is not education. IT IS GROOMING. This is pornography.

normalizes the killing of a child
advises to consult a trusted adult, but then mentions all the ways to side step the adult, "it's your decision"
does not talk about the details of the medical procedures and lasting effects on the body
advises how to learn state laws to go around parents
labels crisis pregnancy centers as 'fake' clinics and is pushing viewer to avoid them

Canyon, TX, is not the only town battling against AMAZE. The child advocacy group, Protect Our Kids Now, reports that a California Association of School Board trustees endorse this content. 'Protect Our Kids Now' does not agree and neither do we. How can the California State Board of Education get away with this? That is unclear. Please make sure children are not around as you watch the next video. This is pornography.

These videos have an agenda to normalize that there are more than two sexes and that you can be attracted to anything. Below is a California educator warning parents how AMAZE videos are being used in California public schools to indoctrinate children (clips of two AMAZE videos are shown in this video starting at 3:34).
All AMAZE videos, websites and social media are NOT acceptable for K-12 and should be labeled pornographic and harmful for children. They are pervasively vulgar. Sexual indoctrination is a hard NO.
Conclusion
Texas government schools, please wake up, pay attention, and do not point children toward harmful sites. Administrators should fully vet all online resources and ensure they align with the most conservative values in a local community as to not break laws, violate student rights, violate parental rights, offend or strip any child of their innocence.
We are disappointed in Canyon ISD, but it's not the first time. Parents have a right to know what online resources are being pushed in a school or on social media platforms. Schools have legal duties to protect children. There is a culture war underway in our country.
We must protect children at ALL costs.
